Desert Full Bloom is part of the desert life series. This painting has won several awards and was juried into the Arizona Watercolor Society in the spring of 2011.
The Cholla Cacti is known as the "Jumping Cactus." It is notorious for very loose joint attachments, because the joints attach to hapless by-passers with the slightest brush. Yup, I did go home the day I was doing the photo work on this flower with painful little stickers all over me. It's kind of ironic that this painting in particular has won several awards.
