From the Desert Life Floral Series
The Saguaro Cactus flower is the state flower for Arizona. It grows in clusters at the top of the the very majestic Sagauro Cactus. Like all of the cactus paintings, the photoshoot for this particular one didn't come without drama. Picture my car parked on the shoulder of the interstate (yep it shouldn't have been there), a ladder, and a state trooper offering to help me down.
Was great fun to paint this one.
